Challenge

Located in a thousand-year-old village in Provence, Hôtel La Bastide de Boulbon (HBB) provides weekenders and travellers a restful and pampering stay in an intimate luxury setting.

Two years after taking over, Sylvie Faurel Coisne, the new owner and director of the hotel, wished to take the customer experience to the next level. To accomplish this, her team’s top priority became identifying the unique value the hotel offers its guests and showcasing that value through a website makeover. It was at this moment that Making You Smile got on board.

Solution

We conducted a thorough analysis of the guests’ feedback to determine the core customer benefits that HBB is uniquely positioned to bring. This led us to center both the messaging and visual styling around the idea of guests being able to leave feeling completely refreshed and serene. To do this, special attention was paid to speaking to all of the five senses. We then carefully curated the content to back this core brand promise by illustrating the high-quality products and attentive services of the hotel.

We also worked to infuse the bright, warm energy and poetic grace of this place into the website so as to further stimulate website users’ desire to book a stay. This meant selecting photos full of lush colors and expanding the brand’s visual identity (color palette, typography, and illustrations).
